Here are the two main references from the blog:
1. Isaiah 6:1-7
2. Matthew 12:33-37
To give credit where credit is due, you'll see that much of this message was inspired by RC Sproul's teaching series, "The Holiness of God." As I listened to him teach on this passage (Is. 6:1-7), God showed me a connection between what Isaiah describes about his reaction to God's Holiness and what it can teach us about our words. "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks." Our words must be carefully guarded, which means we must stand at the gates of our hearts and limit what we allow in. Paul says that it is not what goes into us that is sin, but what comes out. Remember that because it is key. This movie or that song is not sin in and of itself. However, if it prompts emotions, actions, words, or choices that are contrary to the law of love, it is no good. If I could encourage today to act in some way, guard your hearts so that you can guard your words. Be blessed, friends!
